Things To Consider When Planning for Your Vacation

It is always nice to travel anytime and anywhere. This is especially true for me because I have the passion for traveling. Today, I am sharing about important things to consider when planning and booking for your trip. I am not really an expert about this area but with all the experiences I had during my trip locally and internationally, I believed I have some things to impart to everyone who loves to travel.

the beautiful beach in Panglao Island, Visayas, Philippines. I was here last year.

First of all, we have to consider our travel budget. Some women out there would say, “No money, no honey” but for a traveller like me, I would say, “no money, no travel.” Yes, this is the most important thing to consider when you are planning for your vacation.

I called a friend last week because she sent me a message that she wanted to go with me for a six-day trip to Monaco, French Riviera and some places in Italy this coming spring season. During our conversation, she said that she is no longer coming due to some financial reason. I already told her about that trip since January so that she can start to save money but still it did not work. Don’t forget to consider first your budget when you want to spend a vacation.

I would take accommodation as the second thing to consider for your vacation. You just can’t sleep on the road or down the trees during your holiday but you always need a comfortable place to stay. You are lucky when you have a friend or relative in a certain place you are visiting, who will let you stay in their home or apartment. Thanks to the power of internet where we can easily find cheap and affordable accommodation.

Do you know that getting a travel insurance especially when you are travelling out of the country is very important. We never know when emergency happens and it is always an advantage when we have such kind of insurance to protect us from any financial problems that may arise.

There are still a lot of things to consider when planning for your holiday. I believed the things I mentioned above are the most important ones. Have a safe and sound trip.

Sights to See in Perth, Western Australia

Let’s go travel and see the world again! I can’t wait to travel in the coming months. I already booked some trips last week. It also means saving more money to spend for my holiday. There are a lot of beautiful places to see in this world. When given time and money, I might be traveling from now and then. One of my travel wishlist is Australia specifically the city of Perth. I believed there are a lot of cheap perth hotels to stay-in when visiting this city.

Below are some of the sights I would love to see in Perth, the largest and capital city of the Australian state of Western Australia.

Museums

There are a lot of museums to see in this city. Some of it are the Western Australian Maritime Museum in Fremantle, the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Western Australian Museum. I would love to see first the extensive display of Aboriginal artefacts at the Western Australian Museum.

Barrack Square

It is an open public square on the foreshore of Perth Water on the Swan River. I would love to see the Swan Bells here. This is a quite a very interesting architecture in Barrack Square. I also would like to take a walk here or maybe drink a coffee or tea in one of the cafes or restaurants in this square. Taking a cruise from here can also be a good experience to look around.

The Burswood Entertainment Complex

This is another interesting place to visit. It is located on the Swan River near the city of Perth. I would love to go galivanting here, look around or maybe take a dinner in one of its restaurants. A walk to the Burswood Park is also a great idea. The Burswood Entertainment Complex includes bar, nightclub, restaurants, two international hotels, theatre and a Convention Centre.

These are only some of my wishlist to see in this city. I would also love to experience the life and culture in this part of Australia. I find this place interesting after reading that it bleongs to the list of World’s Most Livable Cities according to The Economist’s 2010 survey.

The Royal Garden in the New Palace in Bayreuth, Germany

The Royal Garden or the Court Garden, called in German as the Hofgarten is a garten in the New Palace (Neues Schloss) in Bayreuth in the state of Bavaria, Germany.

We had a sightseeing in Bayreuth and some of the sights we visited were the New Palace and its Court Garden, the Eremitage and the Old City of Bayreuth.

These images we took during our visit last August 2009.

After the New Palace was built, the garden, which had been margravial property since the end of the 16th century, was redesigned and extended: south of the pall mall alley dating from 1679, which was included in the new garden, Friedrich and Wilhelmine von Brandenburg-Bayreuth added avenues, hedge gardens, pergolas and parterres. The central axis was a canal with a right-angled bend and four islands.

At the end of the 18th century, the court garden was transformed into an English-style park with winding paths and natural stands of trees. However, the basic features of the geometric garden can still be seen: the park is dominated by the canal and the three main avenues and in 1990 the parterre in front of the south wing was also reconstructed. Anyway to start the week, let us travel and see the Landesgartenschau in Neumarkt Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany. It is a garden found near Neumarkt center. Go Travel and See Strasbourg, France

Let’s go travel and see the world again! How about visiting the capital and principal city of the Alsace region in north-eastern France? We had finally visited Strasbourg last year in December. It is a city close to the border of Germany. I was even thinking before that this city is within Germany but it is not. Its name sounds like German, the reason why I was thinking about it.

Strasbourg is also an official seat of the European Parliament. This was the reason why I wanted to visit it, to see the European Parliament building here. Sad to say, we don’t have much time going around the city. At least, we were able to visit it and had witnessed its famous Christmas Market.

You can see the tower of the Strasbourg Cathedral towering above the Old Town.

Strasbourg is situated on the Ill River, where it flows into the Rhine on the border with Germany, across from the German town Kehl.

Tulips in Our Little Keukenhof

I just noticed that the day is getting longer now. Last December, between 3-4 PM, it was already getting dark. Today, at around 5PM, we still had a bit daylight. It means that the next season is coming soon. I can’t wait for the next spring time to see the little Keukehof in our garden. If you don’t have any idea what and where is Keukenhof, continue reading below.

Keukenhof, literally means Kitchen garden, also known as the Garden of Europe, is situated near Lisse, Netherlands, and is the world’s largest flower garden. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7,000,000 (seven million) flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares.

See below the tulips from our garden.

I love these flowers. I can’t wait to see them again this spring time!

Skywatching in Taoist Temple Cebu, Philippines

Built in 1972, the Cebu Taoist Temple is located in Beverly Hills Subdivision in Cebu City, Philippines. The temple was built by Cebu’s substantial Chinese community. With an elevation of 300 meters above sea level, the temple is a towering, multi-tiered, multi-hued attraction accessible by three separate winding routes.

taken during my vacation in the Philippines last 2010. You an have a good view of Cebu City when you are here in Taoist Temple.

Unlike the neighboring Phu Sian Temple, the Taoist temple is open to the worshipers and non-worshipers alike. A ritual among devotees is where one prays to the gods to grant one’s wish. The ritual includes washing of hands, going inside the chapel barefoot and dropping two blocks of wood. If the blocks of wood are both face up then one could make a wish. If not then it is not yet the time for one’s wish to be granted and one has to come to the temple some other time. more here
