Go Travel and See Monaco

Let’s go travel and see the world again. It is always nice to travel and explore new places when possible. I am very happy as I stepped on the city-state of Monaco last April 2011. It is truly a stunning experience seeing places like this. I remember a friend’s daughter who told me that she wants to live and work in Monaco. I told her, why not? She loves the place and was amazed by its beauty.

Monaco, officially known as the principality of Monaco is bounded by the French Riviera to the west and the Italian Riviera to the east. We also visited part of these boundaries during our visit. Monaco is located between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea, such a perfect setting and location. It is considered to be the second smallest independent state in the world after Vatican.

I have a lot of stories and experience to tell and share about Monaco but I am quite very sleepy now. More in my other travel sites below.

Go Travel and See Nuremberg in Bavaria, Germany

Let’s go travel and see part of the world again. How about visiting this time one of the cities in Germany. Nuremberg, written in German as Nürnberg is a city in the administrative region of Middle Franconia in the state of Bavaria, Germany. I am reminding my dear readers and viewers that Germany has 16 states and Bavaria is the largest one. For me, it is also the most beautiful state in Germany.

Nuremberg is the second largest city in Bavaria, after Munich. The town is also the Center of the Metropolitan Region Nuremberg. It is a very interesting city with its Gothic churches, its beautiful Old Town, splendid patricians’ houses and romantic corners and spots.

The Ehekarusell or Marriage Carousel in Nuremberg. I always love visiting this city from time to time. It is also called as the Hans-Sachs Brunnen (Hans Sachs fountain) or Ehebrunnen (marriage fountain). It is located near the White tower which you see in the background.

The famous Nürnberger Chriskindlesmarkt or Nuremberg Christmas Market is celebrated annually at the Hauptmark or main market.

There are a lot to see and experience in this city. I wish to share more information about it in my future post. Hey, don’t forget to sample the famous Lebkuchen or ginger bread and Nürnberger Bratwurts when you visit Nuremberg.

Russia Holidays-What to Do and See

I can’t imagine visiting in the future the largest country in terms of land size. Yes, Russia is the largest country in the world It is spanning Eastern Europe and northern Asia. It is also sharing borders like Finland, Estonia. Latvia, Norway, Poland and some other Baltic regions. Can you imagine spending Russian holidays exploring this very huge country? I believed a month is not enough. For sure there are a lot to see and experience in the vast land of Russia. There are also a lot of interesting cities to visit.

City Break in Moscow

This is one of the world’s greatest cities with endless attractions to offer to its tourists and visitors. Moscow is the capital of Russia and the largest city in Europe. Some of the main sights to see include the Red Square known as the heart of Moscow, St. Basil Cathedral, The Kremlin, Lenin Mausoleum, Bolshoi Theatre, Novodevichy Convent and many more. If you love to visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Church of the Ascension with its Byzantine style is worth to see. Moscow is also famous for its opera, theatre, 2circuses and many other attractions. It is also a great place to go ice skating. If you have the chance, experience the hot air balloon ride in Suburban Moscow. For sure visiting this city will add to one of your memorable travel portfolios. Just a reminder, people here are not so friendly especially for non-Russian speaker.

Saint Petersburg

This city is considered is considered to be one of the world’s top travel destinations. I have seen a lot of images from Saint Petersburg in travel magazines and I was impressed by it. It is also known for its world’s best museums, the Hermitage. It is the second largest city of Russia, founded by St. Peter the Great in 1703. The Historic Center of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments belong to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The Russian Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress, Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, Alexander Nevskiy Monastery are only some of the nteresting sights to see. Don’t miss to visit Vasilievsky Island if you have more time for sightseeing. It is also said that you better not visit Saint Petersburg if you don’t want to see its famous opera and ballet performance. Experience a tour of the canals in this so-called “The Venice of the North”. This is a great way of seeing this city especially during summer season.

Night Life in the Cities

Most big cities in Russia are famous for its night life. They know how to party. There are always huge and excellent selection of nightclubs, bars and pubs that will satisfy tourists and visitors looking for fun and night out. Music from rock, hiphop, R&B, jazz, techno and a lot more are mostly played in clubs.

Ecotourism

What can you expect with a huge land like Russia. It is very rich in natural resources. It has 10 National Parks and 101 Nature Reserves covering a total land mass larger than Germany. Ecotourism is one of the best ways to experience this country. An outdoor journey to explore Russia’s natural environment can be a priceless experience. There are travel agencies specializing in ecotourism in Russia. Check it out in the internet before doing some ecotourism trip.

These are only some of the few things you can do and see in this huge land of Russia. There are still other interesting cities to visit and sights to see. Just a reminder, always keep you Identification card with you especially when a police officer will ask for it.

Journey back in time with a holiday in Greece

It’s time to have a journey back in the past with a holiday in Greece. There are a lot of things that comes to my mind everytime I think of Hellas. I believed it is time to start searching for cheap Greece holidays. Thanks to modern technology where we can easily find affordable holidays by browsing the internet.

I can still remember some Greece history back in high school. As far as I can remember, Hellas, the other name of Greece, is considered as the cradle of western civilization. It is also the home of the first Olympic Games. The famous philosophers like Socrates, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Heraclitus, Plato were only some of the great people who had contributed to western philosophy.

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone theatre structure located on the south slope of the Acropolis of Athens. This was taken by my friend Ritz during her visit to Athens, Greece

Greece has an ancient culture that contributed to the present western civilization. Mathematic principles, the arts, language, philosophy, politics, Western drama, western alphabets are only some of the factors brought by the influence of the ancient culture of Greece. It is simply a country full of history. These are also the reasons why 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites are located in Greece.

There are a lot of things to do and see in Greece. For some, the beautiful island beaches are their choice. Others might want to see the wonder of Greek architecture and engineering in Athens. A visit to the mythic Mount Olympus can also be an exciting trip for hikers and adventurers. Its mountainous mainlands can also be a nice experience for trekkers. These are only some of the reasons why Greece has become one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

I can’t wait to visit this country soon. I might see you there!

Estonia Holiday

I was browsing again a travel magazine this afternoon and found some trips to the Baltic countries like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. If ever I am given the opportunity for a free travel in one of these countries, I will choose first Estonia.

This country is officially called Republic of Estonia. It is considered to be one of the wonderful holiday destinations in the Baltics. Whether you want to spend a city break in Tallinn, a coastal holiday to Saaremaa, relaxing at a spa in Kuressare or a beach vacation in Jurmala, Estonia is simply a place to spend an enchanting holiday. The Baltic Travel Company is the expert to all vacation getaways in the Baltic nations.

Here are some of the charming cities I wish to visit in Estonia:

Tallinn

This is the capital and largest city of Estonia. Tallinn is considered a global city. It is the European Capital of Culture in 2011. It is a member of the European Union countries.

Tallinn is a combination of historical sites and ultra modern styles which made it unique. There a lot of things to see and experience in Tallinn. Visiting its Old Town which belong to the list of World UNESCO Heritage Sites is a must-see in this city. The coastal district Pirita, the Kadriorg Palace which now houses the Art Museum of Estonia and the Estonian Open Air Museum in Rocca al Mare are also worth visiting.

Kuressaare

This is the capital city of Saaremaa. It is a historical city that was first mentioned in 1424. It is located around 216 kilometres from Tallinn. It is considered to be a safe and healthy city. It was the first city in Estonia to receive the official status of Healthy City in 1998, thus making it a perfect place to have a relaxing and healthy vacation. I was amazed after knowing that alone this city has seven great spa-hotels, three of which are located by the sea. That is also the reason why a lot of tourists are visiting it all year round.

Parnu

This is another interesting city to visit in Estonia. It is located southwestern Estonia on the coast of Pärnu Bay. This city is sometimes called Pyarnu. It is a famous summer vacation resort with many hotels, restaurants and beautiful beaches. This is also the reason why it attracts a lot of visitors every year especially during summer season. No wonder it is the summer capital of Estonia.

Other interesting cities to visit in Estonia are Narva, Tartu, Rakvere, Valga, Paide, Tapa and depending on your choice there are still a lot to see. Having received a lot of international rankings, Estonia has been a target of many tourists and visitors.

Nordic Countries to Visit

The Berlin Sculpture in Berlin, Germany

The Berlin Sculpture is a broken chain located on the Tauentzienstraße in western Berlin, the capital of Germany. It was conceived by the artists Brigitte Matschinsky-Denninghoff and Martin Matschinsky in 1985 and was built in 1987. This broken chain monument symbolizes the severed connections between West and East Berlin due to the construction of the Berlin Wall. It also commemorates the unfortunate chapter in German history, as meant by Mrs. Matschinsky-Denninghoff.

You can find the Hotel Berliner Hof and the Mercedez Benz building in the background. I was finally in Berlin last February 2011. I find Germany’s capital very interesting.

Safety Tips- Do’s and Don’ts

Do you love to travel? Is this your first time to go for a trip? Sometimes a first-timer traveller don’t have enough knowledge and precautions on how to spend a safe and secure travel. You must be aware of your safety and security while travelling. There are some measures and travel tips to avoid any loss when you spend a holiday or vacation. Here are some information for you.

Beware of crowded public places. These are usually the favourite venues of pick pocketers. Like what the experts are telling, Pick pocketing is an art that is seemingly practiced through-out the world. I remembered a trip when my friend’s purse was pick-pocketed. She lost some hundred Euros and some valuables like ATM card, credit cards, ID card, drivers license and other important documents that were inside the purse. Before we visited a huge festival that time, I even reminded her to be extra careful with her bag. It is advisable to use money belts, pouches or holster wallets that can be hidden inside your jacket or clothes.

It is my habit not to leave valuables lying inside the hotel room. In short, don’t leave cash, jewellery, camera, handy, laptop, ipod and other valuables inside your room. You better bring it with you or keep it in the hotel safe. I better suggest not to bring expensive jewellery when you go for a trip.

Don’t dangle your camera from around your neck or wrist; keep it in an inexpensive looking camera bag.

Don’t carry all of your own valuables in one place. It is better to split documents and money in various safe holding locations.

Lastly, always stay alert especially in crowded places like in the train stations, airports or bus stops.

Prior to departure, you can always listen to current news, media reports or you can browse the internet for more travel information. Thanks to Lovereading.co.uk for these safety travel tips.
