Beautiful Parks and Gardens I visited in Germany

Germany is a beautiful country. With its natural beauty and its distinct and unique cultures, many tourists and visitors from around the world are flocking to this country. It is not only known as one of the most influential countries in the European Union but as one of the world’s main economic powers as well.

I guess you have some ideas  now about Germany. Today, I would love to focus on the beautiful parks and gardens I visited in this country. This would also means that I will be talking about plants and flowers that I have seen to these parks and gardens.

Insel Mainau or the Island of Mainau– I visited this garden island last August of this year. I was amazed by the beauty of its surrounding and its setting. I felt like I was in paradise when I was there. Being called as the “flowering island”, it is noted for its parks and garden which I truly loved. I saw a lot of plants and flowers including roses, dahlias, angel’s trumpet, bougainvillea, cacti, lavender, orchids, calla flowers, just name it and I believed this island has it all. I bought some souvenirs during my visit including a book about Plant Care Tips. I  found a lot of information on  how to take care of plants in this book.

The Castle and the Church in Insel Mainau. I love this place!

The Court Garden of the Neues Schloss or New Castle in Bayreuth– This is a perfect place to relax or enjoy especially during summer season. We visited it last summer of 2009 and I truly had a wonderful time walking around. You can find Shrubs and Trees, various flowers, fountains and statues and monuments in this park.

The park and garden of the New Palace in Bayreuth.

The Hermitage or Eremitage in Bayreuth– This is the Old Palace  of Margrave Georg Wilhelm as summer residence and  is located around 6 km outside of the city. The gardens created by Wilhelmine are really worth to see. You can find ornate fountains in its gardens and their waterworks begin  from 10AM to 5PM. I love especially its Sun Temple.

The Olympiapark in Munich during our visit last summer 2009.

The Olympiapark in Munich–  known as Olympic Park in English, this park was the venue of the 1972 Summer Olympics.  This park now serves as venue  for cultural, social and religious events. My first visit there was on 2009 and I wish to visit it again.

These are only some of the beautiful parks and garden I visited in Germany. There are some more but I cannot find  the images I took of the others during our visit. I hope to find  the photo folders of those.

10 Amazing facts of Niagara Falls in Canada

There are dozens of amazing facts about the Niagara Falls in Canada, but here are ten of them:

1. The Falls are in fact made up of three separate waterfalls, the largest being the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The Bridal Veils Falls sit next to the American Falls, and are so-named because of their delicate appearance.

2. The total height of the Falls is 51 m. It is the largest waterfall by volume in North America, and the water flows at a maximum speed of 40 km per hour. The Falls occupy an area of 212 sq km.

3. At certain times the flow of water over the falls is reduced. This is to divert water to the nearby hydroelectric dams. These are a major source of electricity for the city of Ontario.

4. Four of Canada’s Great Lakes drain into the Niagara River. From there they pass through the Falls into the fifth lake, Lake Ontario.

5. The combination of light and water means that you are almost guaranteed to see a rainbow when you visit the Falls. The best time for this is in the afternoon or early evening. At night time colours of a different sort appear when the Falls are spot lit.

6. Marilyn Munroe came here in 1952 for the filming of the movie “Niagara”. Parts of the film “Superman” were also shot here.

7. It is thought that the name “Niagara” comes from the Iroquois word “Onguiaahra”, which means “strait”.

8. The international boundary between Canada and the United States goes right through the middle of the Falls.

9. The Falls have always attracted daredevils, from the tightrope walker Charles Blondin to those who tried to go over the top in a barrel. Today you can have your own adventure by flying overhead in a helicopter or by going right up to the base of the Falls in the famous Maid of the Mist diesel powered boat.

10. The area attracts 14-20 million visitors every year. This is because it is a fantastic place for a family vacation, with world class hotels, restaurants and entertainments. Make sure you pack your credit cards because there are lots of opportunities for shopping, as wells as golf courses, casinos and fun things for the kids to do.

Sights I love When I Visited London

Olympics is almost ending. I might not be able to make it to the world’s greatest sports event but I am always happy to remember that once in my life I was able to visit England. The highlight of my trip was the visit to United Kingdom’s capital city.  I should hire the services of  Sightseeing Tours London  to maximize my day trip in this city. There are just a lot of sights to see and experience  there. Visiting for a day is not enough.

Here are some of sights I experienced when I visited one of the beautiful capitals of  Europe.

London Eye– I can’t forget that afternoon when I took a ride in the biggest ferris wheel of Europe. It was raining hard but I am thankful that the wheel started to turn when the rain started to fall down. It was truly an amazing experience seeing the surroundings of London thru that giant wheel. Don’t miss it when you are in London.

The famous London Eye. I  took this image during my visit last October.

Buckingham Palace– The official London residence of the British Monarch is a must to see when visiting this city. Don’t miss the changing of the guards ceremony when you are there. I wish to see the interior of this palace. Since I went there during the month of October, sightseeing inside is closed to the public. Only during the months of August and September that visitors are allowed to go inside for sightseeing.

The Tower Bridge– Don’t get confused about the London Bridge and Tower Bridge. You might be familiar with the song, “London bridge is falling down”? It is actually the Tower Bridge that is suspending not the London Bridge. The latter is another bridge upstream that also crosses Thames river. This iconic symbol of London must be in your list to see.

St. Paul’ Cathedral
– I did this this historical amazing architecture in London but I did not had the chance to go inside. From the outside, you can already see the beauty of this cathedral which is dominated by its dome. Another site which wamts to make me go back to London.

If it is your first  time in London, you might need the help of Sightseeing Tours London, to guide you during your trip there.

The Regensburg Cathedral in Bavaria

I visited the Cathedral of Regensburg during my first visit. It was followed by a second visit, third visit, fourth visit and so on and so forth. I cannot exactly remember how many times did I already visited Regensburg but I am quite sure over fifty times now.

Regensburg is a historical city in Bavaria, Germany. The large medieval centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the famous sights in this city is the Regensburg Cathedral which is dedicated to St. Peter. It has a Gothic architecture which was built around 700.

It is very amazing seeing historical structures like this. Here are some photographs I took during one of my visits.

The main facade of the Cathedral of Regensburg. The Regensburg Cathedral is the bishop’s church and the principal church of the Regensburg diocese. It is also the home of the Regensburger Domspatzen (“cathedral sparrows”), a choir rich in tradition. The structure is considered the most significant Gothic work in southern Germany.

The Cathedral is also the burial place of important bishops, including Johann Michael von Sailer (1829-1832, memorial built by Konrad Eberhard in the south chancel), Georg Michael Wittmann (1832-1833, memorial also by Konrad Eberhard in the north chancel), and Archbishop Michael Buchberger (1927-1961, likewise in the north chancel).

Major Tourist Attractions of Majorca

Inexpensive family vacations in Majorca are very popular. It’s no surprise that the additional value makes a potentially expensive time a bit simpler to the wallet whereas still permitting you and the children to have unlimited fun under the sun, sea and sand of South Europe’s most striking island – Majorca.

Guide to Majorca for hen weekends will certainly include the amazing Magaluf Pirate Show – this is an astonishingly extensive Majorca holiday tradition! It’s been in practice for 22 years now and 3,000,000 tourists have actually paid to observe its exceptional brand of remarkable acrobatics, incredible dancing and cut-throat humor. The cost of dinner is included in the ticket, thus making it an inclusive night out, ideal for family holidays in Majorca. Make sure that you explore the Pirates Adventure which is an adults-only edition of the similar adventure inappropriate for under-18s!

Majorca, Spain

Aqualand, El Arenal – there are several water parks among Majorca’s main attractions (including the massive Aqualand at Magaluf) but many tourists still believe that the best and largest is the Aqualand at El Arenal. Guide to Majorca for hen weekends should imply Aqualand at El Arenal. This is really a huge water park with wonderful swings, water slides, waterfalls and other recreational attractions. Expect the exhilarating combination of daredevil with white knuckle slides and mild rubber ring rides for a calmer swim. However, it can be on the expensive side, but if you visit the place when it is not jam-packed you will certainly get your money’s worth.

Golf Fantasia, Palma Nova – there are ample golf courses on this island, but very few golf courses in Majorca are really up to the budget and scale of Golf Fantasia in stunning Palma Nova. It has varied scenery (waterfalls, caves and gardens) with an adequate number of holes. However, the only disadvantage to this amazing attraction is the increased popularity of the golf course.
