I Want to Travel to Countries with the Most Colorful Flags
I always love to travel and travel! I believed in the saying that says, “If you only read a book and don’t travel, you only read one page of it”. When finances are available, I would be in the other side of the globe right now. Inspite of visiting over 30 countries for the past 5 years, I still want to visit some more. There are a lot of places to see and one life is even not enough to see everything.
Included in my list are the 5 most colorful flags in the world. It might be common for us to see flags that only have three colors. Germany for example has red, yellow and black. USA has white, red and blue.
You might be wondering which countries have the most colorful flags? Here are some that are in my bucketlist.
South Africa– It is good interesting to know that this country is the only nation that has six colors in their flag’s primary design. Officially known as the Republic of South Africa, this country is situated in the southern tip of Africa. There are a lot of sights I want to experience there. Visiting cities like Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Kimberley are on on my list.
Saint-Pierre and Miquelon– First time to hear such a country name? If I am not mistaken I saw some representatives from this nation to the London Olympics last 2012. Etymology says Saint-Pierre is French for Saint Peter, who is a patron saint of fishermen. It is situated in the northwestern Atlantic Ocean near Canada. I found their flag very colorful and interesting.
Grenada– I always wanted to visit the Caribbean countries and one of it is Grenada. It is known as the “Island of Spice” due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops which makes Grenada one of the world’s largest exporters. Grenada’s flag has actually three colors but its busy design and bright colors makes it seem very colorful.
Seychelles– With its five colors radiating out from the lower left corner, it makes the flag of Seychelles very interesting. The Republic of Seychelles is an island country with around islands spreading in the Indian Ocean.
Turkmenistan– Although I read some travel advisories that it is difficult to visit this country, I still want to go there for sightseeing. Formerly known as Turkmenia, it is one of the Turkic states in Central Asia. It is known to have the most intricate of all the national flags in the world. It has four colors in its design and the Turkmenistan’s flag is far from having the most colors.
