Winter in Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany

You might be very familiar about the Castle in Disneyland. Don’t you know that the inspiration of Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty was the famous Neuschwanstein Castle in Hohenschwangau, Bavaria, Germany. The castle is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace commissioned by King Ludwig II, king of the state of Bavaria.

taken during our visit last winter of January 2011.

The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death in 1886.
